Atlanta Georgia

The city of Atlanta, Georgia offers something for everyone. While is was once held back by the problems of the Old South it now is a prosperous world renowned destination for business, tourism, and fun. The city has great weather almost year round and is worth a visit at any time, but fall and spring are the best seasons with spring bringing a myriad of colors as the flowers and trees bloom.

Atlanta, Georgia is the largest city in Georgia, and the metropolitan area around and in the city proper of Atlanta is one of the largest metro communities in America. While many large cities in America have some geographical boundary Atlanta has none. This has enabled the Atlanta area to expand outward to create one of the worst urban sprawls in the world. It is almost impossible now to tell when one city in the metropolitan Atlanta area begins and another ends making the community of Atlanta one giant sprawl that stretches out from midtown Atlanta to as far north as Cumming, Georgia and as far south as Newnan, Georgia.

Although the problems of the sprawl and horrendous traffic plague Atlanta there is more to the city that is worth seeing. Atlanta has some of the richest Southern history in the South. Starting with the Atlanta History Center and expanding to the various Civil War battlefields. For families there are the attractions like Six Flags Over Georgia and the Georgia Aquarium. Zoo Atlanta is one of the most respected zoos in the nation and is a must see on any stop to Atlanta. The architecture around the Grant Park Zoo area is a must see as well.
